Inspection, Payment, Revised Offers & Returns

This page explains what happens after a device reaches Sell My Phones. The initial valuation is based on the information supplied before physical inspection. The final amount is confirmed after the device has been checked.

What we check during inspection

  • Exact model, storage and specification
  • Whether the device powers on and operates normally
  • Screen, housing, cameras, speakers, microphones, buttons and charging
  • Battery condition where relevant
  • Account locks, activation locks, MDM or other management restrictions
  • IMEI, blacklist, ownership or finance restrictions where applicable
  • Any material fault or damage not included in the original condition description

When the submitted condition matches

If the device materially matches the details supplied, the transaction can proceed at the confirmed amount. Payment is processed according to the payment method and timing available for that transaction. See our payment policy for the current process.

When a revised valuation may be needed

A revised amount may be offered when the inspected device differs materially from the submitted model, storage, specification or condition. Examples include undisclosed display damage, account locks, non-working features, a different storage capacity or an incorrect model selection.

Where a revised valuation is required, you should be given the opportunity to review it before completion. Read the revised offers and returns policy for the applicable process.

Valuations can change over time

Used-device values can move as market demand, age, condition and resale prices change. Any validity period shown with a quote applies to that specific quote. Do not rely on an old valuation if its stated validity period has expired.

What can delay payment?

  • The parcel has arrived but has not yet completed inspection
  • The model, storage or condition differs from the submission
  • An activation, account or management lock remains on the device
  • Ownership, blacklist or finance checks require clarification
  • The customer needs to accept or decline a revised valuation
  • Banking or payment-provider processing times

How to reduce avoidable delays

  1. Select the exact device and storage.
  2. Describe faults honestly before sending.
  3. Back up your data and remove account locks.
  4. Keep proof of posting or tracking.
  5. Include the correct reference information where requested.
  6. Respond promptly if clarification or a revised valuation is sent.
