Sell My MacBook or Laptop for Cash in the UK

Sell an unwanted MacBook or supported laptop through a clear UK valuation process. Choose the exact model and specification, describe the condition accurately and follow the handover instructions supplied with your quote. The final amount is confirmed after inspection.

Which MacBooks do we buy?

We buy many MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, including Apple silicon and selected Intel generations. The exact year, chip, screen size, memory and storage can materially change value, so do not choose a similar-looking model if you are unsure.

MacBook Air

Supported models may include 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air devices with M-series chips and selected Intel models.

MacBook Pro

Supported models may include 13-inch, 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro devices with M-series chips and selected Intel models.

Windows laptops

Selected laptops from brands such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft and others may also be supported. Search for the exact device or contact us if your model does not appear.

What affects a MacBook trade-in value?

Check Examples
Model and chip Apple M-series generation, Intel generation, screen size and exact model identifier.
Memory and storage RAM or unified memory and SSD capacity can affect the valuation.
Display Cracks, lines, bright spots, pressure marks, coating damage and backlight faults.
Keyboard and trackpad Sticking keys, missing keys, trackpad faults and Touch ID issues.
Battery Battery health, cycle count, service warnings and unexpected shutdowns.
Housing Dents, bends, liquid damage, damaged ports, hinges or missing feet.
Security and management Activation Lock, Find My, firmware passwords or MDM can prevent normal resale.

How to sell your MacBook

  1. Identify the exact model. Check About This Mac, the serial number and specification.
  2. Choose the closest condition. Include known display, battery, keyboard, port or housing faults.
  3. Review the valuation. The initial amount is based on the details submitted before inspection.
  4. Back up your files. Keep anything important before removing accounts or erasing the Mac.
  5. Remove account and management locks. Sign out of Apple services, disable Find My and remove organisation management where you are authorised to do so.
  6. Send or arrange Bristol drop-off. Follow the handover route provided with the quote.
  7. Inspection and payment. Once the machine is checked and the final valuation is agreed, payment is processed according to the published payment policy.

Can I sell a damaged MacBook?

Potentially. A MacBook with a cracked display, worn battery, keyboard issue, damaged housing, faulty port or other repairable fault may still have value. Liquid-damaged or non-powering machines can also be considered in some cases, but the condition should be described accurately.

Before you send your MacBook

  • Back up your files and confirm the backup is usable.
  • Sign out of your Apple ID and disable Find My.
  • Remove personal or business management profiles where you are authorised to do so.
  • Erase the device where appropriate after your backup is complete.
  • Do not send passwords, recovery keys or security codes.
  • Pack the MacBook with rigid protection around the screen, corners and chassis.

See the data security guide, postage guide, payment policy and revised offers policy before sending.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the charger?

Follow the instructions attached to your specific quote. Do not send extra accessories unless requested.

Can I sell a MacBook with MDM?

Management restrictions can prevent normal reuse. Only an authorised owner or organisation should remove MDM. A managed Mac may not be accepted until the restriction is cleared.

What happens if the specification is different?

The final valuation can change if the inspected model, memory, storage or condition differs materially from the details submitted.
